Exceptional Engineering

The Planar 1 is engineered for exceptional sound quality at its price point. It features a preset bias force on the RB110 tonearm, enabling a straightforward setup in under thirty seconds. The tonearm is built with bespoke, zero play bearings for ultra-low friction performance and includes an automatic bias adjustment system, eliminating the need for manual settings. The turntable also includes a factory-fitted Rega Carbon cartridge, ensuring high-quality audio right out of the box.

Several key components contribute to the Planar 1’s performance. It includes a 24v synchronous motor with low noise and improved speed stability, a redesigned brass main bearing to reduce energy transfer, and a 23mm phenolic resin platter that offers a flywheel effect for greater speed consistency. Additional improvements such as new vibration-reducing feet, an integrated motor cooling tray, and a ‘Plug and Play’ balance weight further enhance its functionality and reliability.
