Atoll PH200 Phono Stage
The Atoll PH200 Phono Stage features two low-noise toroidal transformers, one per channel, ensuring high-performance audio quality. The power supplies are fully shielded by a steel shell, electrically connected to the chassis to prevent parasitic radiation. This shell, along with the filter capacitors and chassis, is treated with a material designed to reduce mechanical vibrations. The preamp's operating consumption remains under 2W, and the printed circuit board is finished with chemical gold nickel to optimize signal transfer. Additionally, the star-patterned grounding ensures perfect power supply noise rejection.
As an external module, the PH200 Phono Stage is built with a specific power supply that includes high-end transformers and voltage regulators, all shielded by a metal box to prevent interference with the audio stages. The unit is constructed entirely of discrete components, eliminating the need for link capacitors. Configuration options for MM/MC and input impedance are conveniently accessible from the rear of the chassis, allowing for easy adjustments and adaptability.
The audio stages of the PH200, polarized in class A and made of discrete components, feature low feedback rates and are separated into a full double mono design up to the RCA output plugs. The preamp uses 6800 µF low series resistance capacitors for air filtering, and RIAA filter capacitors utilize silver mica technology for natural timbre restitution. Each stage has precise settings for quiescent current and offset and operates on direct current without a connecting capacitor, significantly enhancing musicality. The circuit is designed to automatically adapt to any cell impedance value, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.
