Bowers & Wilkins

Founder John Bowers began designing speakers from a small shop on the south coast of England in Worthing, from the Bowers & Wilkins shop came the first B&W speaker the P1, the successes of the P1 led to further investment and by 1968 the DM1 and DM3 range was launched, this led the development of the now iconic 801 speaker. In the late 1970s the 801 speaker was launched incorporating new design technologies such as the tweeter on top design and the development of new cone material, this speaker soon became the reference speaker of choice for many recording studios.
