Ultimate Inspiration

The Neat Momentum JS Bookshelf speakers are inspired by Neat Acoustics’ flagship Ultimatum range and is a more compact version of the Ultimatum XLS. The dual 25mm soft dome/EMIT super-tweeter has been upgraded to the superior Jet AMT tweeter, which provides enhanced high-frequency performance. Retaining the same bass-mid drive unit as the ultimatum, the design includes the distinctive decoupled sub-baffle, which plays a significant role in reducing cabinet resonance for cleaner sound reproduction. 

Like the Ultimatum, the Momentum Jet speakers employ the hallmark Isobaric bass loading technique. This approach is renowned for delivering impressively extended and well-defined low frequencies, ensuring the speakers excel in handling bass with both power and precision. The combination of these design elements results in an immersive and dynamic listening experience.

The front baffle is coupled to the cabinet via a polyethylene membrane, which houses the tweeter and the 170mm drive unit responsible for bass and midrange frequencies. Inside the speaker, a second 170mm unit is positioned behind the main driver in an iso-baric configuration, which enhances bass depth by sealing the space between the units. The low-Q rear port incorporates an acoustic filter to control airflow, providing greater precision to bass reproduction.

To ensure maximum integrity, the crossover networks are hard-wired with point-to-point connections. Premium audiophile-grade components, including high-voltage polypropylene capacitors and low-loss air-cored inductors, are used to optimise sound quality and performance. This attention to detail in the construction contributes to the speaker's ability to deliver clear, well-balanced sound across a wide frequency range.
