Music has always been the driving force for Marten. Music is perhaps the greatest emotive art. By accurately reproducing sound, we make moments that can move you. Our speakers are for discerning listeners. Those that want to hear reality. That want to feel it in their gut.
Family
Marten was founded in 1998 by Leif Mårten Olofsson in Sweden, though its story stretches back further. In the early 1900s, Leif's grandfather, Josef Olofsson, crafted violins using Stradivarius as a benchmark, an instrument played by Mårten Larsson, Leif's maternal grandfather.
In the 1970s, Leif began making his first speakers at the family home, a hobby that sparked his lifelong passion. Starting with the Mingus speaker, the product range has since expanded into five series, a recording studio, and a record label. Born from a deep passion, the company has grown steadily, earning both success and respect over the years. Marten remains a family business to this day, led by Leif alongside his brothers, Jörgen and Lars Olofsson.

On the West coast of Sweden, the team at Marten work with care and attention, whether it's constructing cabinets, assembling speakers or producing music in therecording studio, we draw on a wealth of experience. The saying goes that "Many hands make light work", but it's not a numbers game—Marten are skilled, knowledgeable and hard-working.

The Design Process
Music leads the design of Marten speakers – Marten want to deliver music as it was recorded.
In the Summer of 2014, Marten created their own recording studio and brought live music to our offices in Gothenburg. With reference model Coltrane Supreme 2 in mind, theydesigned a dual microphone studio.
The studio was the cornerstone in the development of our flagship speaker, Coltrane Supreme 2. It was the first speaker to use Cell drivers combined with a first order crossover: a new direction for our design strategy, made possible by Marten's studio.
Oscar Series- Same Sound. New Design
The Oscar series was created to meet the demand for a reasonably-priced Marten speaker, without sacrifice to their renowned sound and quality.
To achieve this Marten went back to the drawing board. Keeping the same Marten sound, designed brand new drivers; allowing more control of the details and the ability to re-design the build.

Oscar Duo Stands
With extensive testing and refinement, Marten adopted a triple-pillar design, achieving a visually lighter appearance without compromising stability.

Oscar Duo Speakers
Oscar Duo meets the demand for a reasonably-priced Marten speaker, without sacrifice to our renowned sound and quality. To achieve this we re-designed the build and created a bespoke driver.
The build offers exceptionally controlled and natural sound; true musicality that is the mark of a Marten speaker.

Oscar Trio Floorstanding Speaker
Oscar Trio, the launch model for new series, is a defining moment - the same Marten sound in a new build. Chief designer Leif Olofsson crafted new technology to achieve the same performance that Marten built our name on. Innovation drove the creation of the Oscar series; understanding challenge, taking risks and rethinking design are the ashes from which Oscar was born.
Parker Series - A Classic in the Making
The strength of this series relies on simple form, powerful sound and lounge-friendly appeal – a formula that Marten has built successes on. Parker has a full complement of custom drivers and is quickly becoming one of the strongest and most popular series we have ever produced.

The Marten stand is designed so it works in concert with Parker Duo. Three extremely rigid pillars are mounted on a steel base plate which is weighted for stability.

This 2-way a true high end stand speaker. Marten pride themselves on crafting stand speakers that compete with their floorstanding counterparts. Parker Duo is designed for extreme resonance reduction and with passive radiators, it’s able to fill large rooms with powerful, dynamic sound.
