The Audio physic CLASSIC 35 incorporates a unique proprietary Sandwich Cabinet. This design features glass panels bonded to a solid MDF core using elastic acrylate adhesive stripes. The resulting sandwich structure is highly resistant to vibrations, effectively eliminating any unwanted sound colouration caused by the cabinet itself. The result is pure, unadulterated music, with no influence from the speaker’s construction. The high-gloss surface of the glass panels is more resistant to scratches than traditional lacquer finishes, offering superior durability. The real wood variants, such as walnut and cherry, combine natural wood surfaces with elegant black glass on the front, exuding a sense of refined simplicity.
The Proven Sandwich
Building on the success of its predecessor, the CLASSIC 30, the CLASSIC 35 continues to use the advanced Sandwich Cabinet Construction. This design consists of a robust internal core, to which back-painted glass panels are affixed with elastic acrylate adhesive stripes. The differing resonance characteristics of glass and MDF, along with the damping properties of the acrylate adhesive, effectively suppress any vibrations. This ensures that unwanted ‘cabinet sound’ is eliminated, allowing the listener to experience nothing but pure audio, free from external interference.
Clean Sound
The adhesive stripes also create a precisely defined gap between the core and the outer glass panels, providing a sound-insulating effect similar to that of double-glazed windows. As a result, sound is only transmitted through the front of the drivers, with no leakage from the inside of the cabinet. This design ensures that the acoustic performance is free from any unwanted external influence. The overall effect is simple yet stunning: the listener hears nothing but the music itself, untainted by the speaker’s construction.
Exceptional German Performance
The CLASSIC 35 also features advanced drivers that reflect the state-of-the-art technology of the Classic Line. The midrange driver, for instance, uses the innovative Audio Physic Dual Basket Design, with a woven glass fibre diaphragm and a Phase Plug mounted directly onto the magnet motor for optimal heat management. This is particularly significant as the human ear is most sensitive in the frequency range covered by this driver, where much of the human voice resides. The clarity and naturalness of this driver’s output are unmatched at this price point. Similarly, the tweeter’s elaborate magnetic motor ensures optimal performance, even under heavy loads. The soft dome, manufactured by a specialised German company, delivers exceptional signal integrity and seamless transition between mid and high frequencies. This ensures a relaxed listening experience, even outside of the ideal listening position.
