The Ruark R1 MK4

Fourteen years have passed since Ruark launched the first generation of the R1! Fourteen years later, she is here, the Ruark R1 MK4 the 4th generation R1.
 As with the original, the look of the R1 Mk4 is iconic and beautiful, but Ruark believes it is even more in the spirit of the times and what sophisticated, design-oriented customers are looking for today. One of the most difficult tasks in the development of the R1 Mk4 was to implement new audio and feature enhancements while offering a competitive product that is priced close to its predecessor. The wooden housings used in the previous R1 models certainly looked beautiful, but were very labor intensive in production. For the first time, Ruark has therefore opted for an efficient injection molding process in production.
This change has has made it possible to give the housing a subtle shape. In addition, the modern, contemporary design offers a perfect surface for the new light cream and espresso lacquer variants. Prepared inside with a special acoustic coating, the stiff and acoustically sluggish polymer housing offers the ideal tuning for the electronics and the newly developed NS+ speaker unit. Together with the handmade wooden front grille, a timeless radio inspired by design classics was created, which is still clearly recognizable as Ruark.
Ruark sets new standards in terms of sound and equipment with the R1 Mk4! The powerful amplifier unit in combination with the in-house developed NS+ loudspeaker unit and adaptive equalization produces a full and extremely balanced sound at all volumes. The high-contrast OLED display displays crisp time, alarm and program information. It can be set to automatic adjustment to the ambient light. This also make it a perfect companion in the bedroom. The reception feature is excellent for both digital and analog radio operations. The high-quality Bluetooth receiver allows a fast and trouble-free connection to smartphone or other players, so you can easily play your favorite streaming services. Also included is a USB playback and charging port that supports many formats, including FLAC and WAV. Other playback devices can also be connected via the line-in input. Ruark's trademark, the RotoDial controller on the top of the R1, makes operation intuitive. Optionally, there is a compact remote control for control as well as a battery pack, which makes it possible to use the R1 also mobile.
Undoubtedly the best way to convince yourself of the new R1 is to see and hear it. With its attractive, fresh look, the design-conscious customer will love it and for radio and music lovers it brings a new level of quality.

Probably one of the best companies in the world. I have recently purchased a HiFi package with Doug Brady and I could not be more thrilled with my experience with them.
