The Serhan Swift mu2 Mk II loudspeaker represents a significant evolution in speaker design. With its high-quality matte black or matte white finishes, it combines both aesthetic appeal and enhanced performance. Every component of the speaker—cabinet, woofer, tweeter, and crossover—has been meticulously re-engineered and improved. This includes findings from the original mu2 Special Edition as well as ongoing research into the effects of vibration on all components. A custom-constrained layer damping material, developed by Les Davis Audio, is now used to further improve performance. The result is a speaker that surpasses previous expectations and achieves higher standards of sound quality.

Drivers and Crossover Improvements

While the woofer and tweeter may appear identical to those in the previous model, they have been refined to offer flatter response, smoother roll-off, and lower distortion. These improvements are fully utilised in the crossover design, which has been fine-tuned to enhance the overall listening experience. Thousands of hours of listening tests and measurements have resulted in a crossover that seamlessly transitions from the on-axis to off-axis response. These subtle refinements ensure a more natural and immersive sound, maintaining the exceptional characteristics of the original design.

High-End Components and Attention to Detail

The mu2 Mk II is equipped with premium drivers from the Revelator series by Scan-Speak of Denmark. These bass-midrange woofers and ring-radiator tweeters are used in much more expensive speakers from high-end manufacturers such as Wilson Audio and Sonus Faber. Their inclusion at this price point is a remarkable achievement. Additionally, the crossover is designed with a high-order configuration, allowing for steeper slopes that reduce distortion and keep the drive units in their optimal performance range. The speaker also features point-to-point hand-wired crossovers, silver soldering, and the use of high-purity copper terminals with rhodium plating from Cardas. Each mu2 Mk II speaker is individually crafted over three days, with rigorous testing and final signing by the Chief Loudspeaker Designer and Engineering Director, ensuring the highest quality and performance.
