Doug Brady Hi-FI are excited to announce the launch of the Rega Brio MK7, a meticulously engineered stereo integrated amplifier designed for the most discerning audiophiles. As the latest version of Rega’s best-selling amplifier, the MK7 brings significant upgrades, including a complete rework of the Brio circuit that optimises performance and reduces distortion. Encased in a compact, custom-built aluminium chassis, the MK7 delivers 50W per channel into 8Ω and 72W per channel into 6Ω, providing ample power to drive even the most demanding speakers. Additionally, the inclusion of an integrated Rega-designed DAC with two digital inputs greatly expands its compatibility, while a custom mini system remote allows users to control the amplifier’s standby function remotely.
The design of the Brio MK7 reflects Rega’s commitment to quality and precision. Every detail, from the materials used to the advanced manufacturing techniques, has been refined to ensure optimal performance. The MK7 features a moving magnet phono stage for vinyl enthusiasts and offers three line inputs, along with an improved phono input that benefits from better isolation between stages. This, along with the use of high-spec operational amplifiers, ensures a cleaner and more precise sound, maintaining the Brio’s reputation as one of the most musically rewarding amplifiers in its class.
Significant improvements have also been made to the amplifier’s circuit. A fully redesigned PCB layout ensures better handling of critical components, and the introduction of a second raw power supply improves isolation between the output stage and the driver stage. This, along with the use of MUSES operational amplifiers in the line, DAC, and phono stages, further enhances the overall performance of the amplifier. The Brio MK7 also includes a dedicated circuit to drive standard hi-fi headphones, allowing users to enjoy music through headphones without compromising sound quality or interrupting the main signal path.
For added convenience, the Brio MK7 features an auto-standby function, automatically putting the amplifier into standby mode after an hour of inactivity. This energy-saving function can be disabled if preferred. To protect against potential damage, the amplifier is equipped with a thermal protection system that disables the speaker output in the event of overheating, ensuring safe operation. Additionally, the Brio MK7 includes fold-back short-circuit protection, safeguarding the output stage from excessive currents due to speaker lead shorts without affecting the audio signal. The Brio MK7 continues Rega’s tradition of producing high-performance amplifiers, offering superior sound quality and exceptional reliability.
