TEAC
TEAC Corporation was founded in 1953 by brothers Katsuma and Tomoma Tani, merging their companies in 1964. Its first model, the TD-102, launched in 1957 and gained early US success after Lafayette Radio Electronics ordered 25 units. Despite slow initial sales, a 1958 demonstration sold 50 units immediately, boosting TEAC’s international reputation. Acclaimed for technical excellence, TEAC’s tape decks earned global recognition, shaping the company’s mission: to create the best products in the world, which remains its guiding principle today.
