The Naim Uniti Atom HDMI is simply stunning all in one streaming amplifier, with a machined aluminium case. The heat sinks on both sides used to dissipate the heat generated by this compact unit, just add to the overall look and style of the unit, the design similar to their flagship Statement amplifier. The 40 watt amplifier is fed by a large custom toroidal transformer with separate windings for the digital, analogue and power amp sections, so it can drive most bookshelf speakers and even small floor standing speakers with room to spare.
Incorporating all the wireless connectivity you need no matter what device you have it covers all the options with Apple Airplay 2, Chromecast built-in and Bluetooth along with the Naim App available for Apple and Android devices, which incorporates streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL and Qobuz all built in.
The Uniti Atom also has great connectivity with a analogue RCA input a couple of optical inputs along with a coax digital input, it also has a USB and a ARC HDMI input to connect to your TV. From the finned aluminum heatsinks (inspired by there Statement flagship amplification system) to the brushed black aluminum casing, the new illuminated signature volume control and the beautifully lit base – every minute detail has been considered to deliver a beautiful aesthetic packed with features and technology whilst achieving reference-level sound quality. Stream music your way
Whichever way you stream your music, the Uniti delivers. With direct access to Spotify Connect (Premium Spotify account required), Tidal and thousands of Internet radio stations, you can enjoy near limitless music. Chromecast is built-in, seamlessly linking to hundreds of supporting apps, such as Deezer, Qobuz and SoundCloud. If you prefer to stream within your own network, UPnP (Universal Plug n’ Play) is also supported – right up to High Resolution 32 bit/384 kHz files.
AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth
Stream music from your Apple device or iTunes with AirPlay 2 and you’ll not only hear your music library or favourite music service but also take advantage of Apple’s multiroom system. Alternatively, for a quick and easy link for anyone in the room, link a smartphone by Bluetooth and share the music instantly.
Multiroom magic
As well as Apple’s AirPlay 2, the Uniti Atom offers two other ways to go multiroom. Either go Google or, better still, use the Naim app to link up all your compatible Naim products. The slick Naim app then lets you listen to the same music all around your home or different music in different rooms. The latest Uniti range is also Roon Ready for enhanced music searching.
Transform your TV’s sound
Amongst its many features, the Uniti Atom also comes with an HDMI ARC socket. This is the ideal connection for a TV, giving your TV the potential for a huge boost in sound. Now you can get a massive upgrade to your TV’s sound as well as music playback, without the need for separate soundbar or sound base.
The centre of your system
As well as HDMI, the Unit Atom also comes with a wide range of inputs. Twin USB sockets (front and rear) are ideal for connecting temporary and permanent media devices. You can store up to 20,000 tracks to a local USB connected device, making this the ideal way to access your digital music library. Three digital inputs are perfect for sources such as a CD/DVD/Blu-ray player, games console and TV set-top box, while the analogue RCA input is ideal for a turntable (with pre-amp built-in).
Outputs
As well as a handy headphone output, the Uniti Atom also features a preamp RCA output. This can be used for a wide choice of options, including connecting your choice of active subwoofer, connecting an upgrade power amp or simply using the Uniti Atom as a stand-alone music streamer in your existing hi-fi.
KEF LS50 META
The Kef LS50 Meta is the replacement for the iconic LS50 speaker which was released way back in 2012 as a limited anniversary model and was one of the most award-winning speaker products ever released by KEF, receiving accolades from such publications as Stereophile, What Hi-Fi, and The Absolute Sound. So the new LS50 Meta have a lot to live up to.
Pushing the Technological Boundaries
The new KEF LS50 Meta pushes the technological boundaries in its mission to create the best possible sound, Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) is a highly complex maze-like structure that eliminates unwanted sound from the rear of driver, resulting in a purer, more natural performance. MAT is the physical manifestation of that drive. The result of a joint development project with the Acoustic Metamaterials Group, MAT breaks completely new ground in loudspeaker design….
LS50 Meta’s baffle is engineered from an injection-moulded Dough Moulding Compound, while inside the cabinet cross bracing and Constrained Layer Damping combine to deaden internal vibrations. The result of such meticulous attention to detail is the lowest coloration of any speaker in its class. Using Computational Fluid Dynamics, the port flare and profile of LS50 Meta’s patented off-set port is calculated to delay the onset of turbulence, and the flexible port walls prevent resonances from colouring the midrange. This leads to improved clarity, with exceptional depth and detail..
Redesigned and Improved
KEF's trademark Uni-Q driver has also been redesigned and improved, incorporating the new Meta technology. The Kef LS50 Meta certainly shares a likeness with the original. But while LS50 is a great speaker, LS50 Meta and the technological advances it boasts offer a truly dramatic improvement in sound quality…
The Kef S2 Floor Stands are optional but a must in our opinion, improving the performance and making them look simply stunning in any room.
