The design of the Px7 S3 has been meticulously engineered for extended comfort, with a notably slimmer profile compared to previous models. Even the carry case has been redesigned to be more compact and easier to fit into a bag. The updated headband and redesigned arm mechanism ensure a closer fit to the head, while luxurious earpads with improved memory foam offer ultimate comfort, ensuring that users can listen for longer periods without discomfort.

The acoustic performance of the Px7 S3 has been significantly enhanced over its predecessor, the Px7 S2e. Nearly every component has been redesigned. The 40mm biocellulose drive units feature a new chassis, voice coil, suspension, and magnet, with only the cone material carried over from the previous generation. These redesigned drive units offer lower coloration and distortion, improved resolution, and superior dynamics. The drivers are carefully angled to ensure a consistent distance from every point on the driver to each ear, providing better imaging and stereo spaciousness.
For the first time in a Bowers & Wilkins over-ear headphone, the Px7 S3’s high-resolution drive units are powered by a dedicated, discrete headphone amplifier. This provides greater scale and energy, ensuring that the sound is both dynamic and exciting, while remaining accurate and realistic.
The Px7 S3 features both aptX™ Adaptive 24/96 wireless technology and the latest Qualcomm innovation, aptX Lossless. These technologies optimise wireless music transmission from compatible devices, ensuring the best possible sound quality for high-resolution music streaming services such as Qobuz and TIDAL. These services can be streamed directly from the Music app.
Supported by powerful Bowers & Wilkins-developed DSP (Digital Signal Processing), the result is exceptional 24-bit / 96 kHz high-resolution sound quality. The headphones also support 3.5mm analogue audio connections and high-resolution-capable USB-C, which is beneficial for both computer users and owners of compatible mobile devices, including the latest generation of iPhones. Both cable types are included in the carry case.
The active noise-cancelling technology in the Px7 S3 is the most powerful and effective ever developed by Bowers & Wilkins. As with previous generations, the noise-cancelling approach ensures that unwanted noise is cancelled without compromising the musicality of the sound. The headphones feature eight high-performance microphones, strategically placed around the ear cups. Two microphones measure the output of each drive unit, four monitor ambient noise, and two enhance voice clarity during calls. These microphones work together to provide outstanding performance, even in the noisiest environments. Advanced voice processing technology, ADI Pure Voice, effectively suppresses unwanted noise during calls, ensuring exceptional call clarity.
The Px7 S3 offers 30 hours of battery life with full noise cancellation enabled, allowing users to enjoy music for an entire day on a single charge. A quick 15-minute recharge provides up to seven additional hours of listening time.

Like all other current Bowers & Wilkins headphones, the Px7 S3 can be configured and controlled via the Bowers & Wilkins Music app. This app allows users to activate or disengage the noise-cancelling transparency mode, monitor battery levels, adjust the wear sensor sensitivity, and customise the operation of the ‘Quick Action’ button. In a notable upgrade, users can now fine-tune the sound using a five-band equaliser, with the option to store preferred settings as easily accessible presets. For those who prefer, the EQ can be bypassed by selecting the True Sound mode, which reflects the audio tuning preferred by the acoustic team at the Southwater Research Establishment (SRE).
Physical controls on each ear cup provide full control even without the Music app. The redesigned button layout improves tactile interaction and makes it more intuitive to use. The Quick Action button allows users to easily cycle through the noise-cancelling options or launch their phone’s Voice Assistant.
The Px7 S3 also supports spatial audio for the first time in a Bowers & Wilkins headphone. The engineers at SRE have developed proprietary audio processing technology to provide a realistic sense of acoustic space and a natural, immersive experience. This technology will be available as an over-the-air update later in the year.

In another first for Bowers & Wilkins, the Px7 S3 will support Bluetooth® LE Audio, including Auracast™ broadcast functionality, allowing a single audio source to broadcast to an unlimited number of receiving headphones. LE Audio also introduces the new LC3 audio codec, which offers the potential for higher-quality sound than standard Bluetooth audio. Compatibility with LE Audio will be added to the Px7 S3 via a future update.
The Px7 S3 is available in two elegant finishes: Anthracite Black and Canvas White, each with complementary detailing. Both the ear cushions and the headband are replaceable by trained service engineers, ensuring long-term durability and pride of ownership.
