Engineering And Performance
The 778S is built around the ESS Technology ES9038Q2M Reference DAC, featuring 32-bit HyperStream architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology for ultra-low noise and exceptional signal integrity. Incoming audio is precision upsampled to 352.8kHz or 384kHz, pushing digital artefacts beyond the audible range and allowing the DAC to perform at its optimal linear point. This approach results in cleaner transients, enhanced dynamics, and a more natural, spacious soundstage. Users can also bypass the upsampling and select from five DAC reconstruction filters, allowing subtle sonic tailoring to suit personal preference and varying source quality.
