Durable Low-Mass Pocan® Body
The 1000 series features a robust one-piece body crafted from Pocan, a glass-reinforced polyester known for its high strength-to-mass ratio. This rigid material allows for tight mounting to the head shell, enhancing sound quality and maintaining stability. The user-replaceable stylus carrier slots securely into place, with a locating pin to prevent vibrations that could affect the sound. An integral mu-metal shield keeps the generator parts safe from stray magnetic fields. At a weight of less than 6.5 grams, the cartridge’s low mass ensures resonance compatibility with a wide range of tonearms.
Innovative Magnetic Circuit and Reduced Moving Mass
The 1042 cartridge utilises an efficient magnetic circuit with finely etched mu-metal laminated pole pieces and two formerless coils, each with four thousand turns, delivering an output higher than average. This setup reduces high-frequency loss, providing a smooth, extended frequency response. A micro-miniature Alnico V magnet, unique to this design, further minimises moving mass.
