The Goldring G1042 cartridge is ideal for audiophiles seeking ultimate sound performance and the practicality of a user-replaceable stylus. Equipped with a nude, natural-diamond stylus featuring a Gyger S profile, this cartridge mimics the record cutting head more accurately than previous designs. The unique shape of the Gyger S, with its 6 µm radius, enables it to trace the finest groove details faithfully. This precision eliminates high-frequency sibilance and offers remarkably accurate mid-range tonality, resulting in an exceptionally smooth, detailed, and musical sound.

Durable Low-Mass Pocan® Body

The 1000 series features a robust one-piece body crafted from Pocan, a glass-reinforced polyester known for its high strength-to-mass ratio. This rigid material allows for tight mounting to the head shell, enhancing sound quality and maintaining stability. The user-replaceable stylus carrier slots securely into place, with a locating pin to prevent vibrations that could affect the sound. An integral mu-metal shield keeps the generator parts safe from stray magnetic fields. Innovative Magnetic Circuit and Reduced Moving Mass

The 1042 cartridge utilises an efficient magnetic circuit with finely etched mu-metal laminated pole pieces and two formerless coils, each with four thousand turns, delivering an output higher than average. This setup reduces high-frequency loss, providing a smooth, extended frequency response. A micro-miniature Alnico V magnet, unique to this design, further minimises moving mass. Combined with a gold-plated nickel tie-bar, it stabilises the cantilever and helps dissipate static, while an optimised butyl rubber mount ensures accurate damping.
