Vertere MG-1 MkII Mystic II Premium Turntable Package
Taking vinyl replay beyond what’s possible in this class, the MG-1 MkII Magic Groove record player incorporates and shares critical design elements with Vertere’s SG-1 Player. The MG-1 delivers remarkable performance, surpassed only by Vertere’s flagship models—the RG-1 Reference Groove and the SG-1 Standard Groove. As with all Vertere turntables, each component is individually crafted, using optimum materials and manufactured to the highest precision standards.
A Superlative Design
The Record Player MG-1 Magic Groove features numerous critical design elements derived from the SG-1 high-performance model, allowing it to exceed expectations within its class. Its precision main bearing and platter assembly, belt-driven by the SG-1 motor system, ensures exceptionally smooth rotation and a stable platform for the tonearm and cartridge. This combination produces a wide dynamic range with an impressively ‘dark’ background, bettered only by the RG-1 and SG-1. The plinth structure and isolation system, also based on the SG-1, are engineered for a maintenance- and setup-free experience.
An Unparalleled Musical Experience
Even in its standard configuration, fitted with D-Fi tonearm and motor drive cables, the MG-1 delivers outstanding audio performance. Used with the matching SG-1 tonearm and Motor Drive, it becomes a true pleasure to operate. Its built-in upgradability allows listeners to elevate its capabilities further—by upgrading the cables to Pulse-B, Pulse-R, or even Pulse-HB, the MG-1’s true potential is unlocked. Stylishly designed and exquisitely finished with meticulous attention to detail, the MG-1 is an essential choice for any vinyl enthusiast seeking musicality, performance, and long-term satisfaction.
Mystic II MC Cartridge
The Vertere Mystic II Moving Coil Phono Cartridge is designed and manufactured to exacting standards to deliver an uncompromising musical experience. Its body is machined from solid aluminium alloy and mass-tuned to the generator, ensuring optimum support and control of unwanted mechanical vibrations. The threaded body accepts two supplied stainless steel thumb screws, enabling precise coupling to the tonearm head-shell. On top of the cartridge are three specifically machined contact points that ensure accurate mechanical coupling. An additional alignment ridge at the front aids in mounting the Mystic to any compatible Vertere tonearm.
Generator & Performance
At the heart of the Mystic II is a Samarium-Cobalt magnet and a Cross coil made from pure copper wire. Its aluminium tube cantilever supports a bonded Micro Elliptical diamond stylus, engineered for maximum tractability without compromising high-frequency response or increasing surface noise. This refined design delivers a wide frequency range—from below 10Hz up to 40kHz—and a 0.5mV output, resulting in a lifelike dynamic range with exceptional depth and precision.
SG-PTA HB Tonearm
At first glance, the Vertere SG-PTA HB Tonearm might appear to be a traditional uni-pivot design, but it is fundamentally different. A typical uni-pivot tonearm balances on a single point, which causes the bearing to 'skate' or shift slightly as the arm moves in various directions. This minute movement, or 'chatter,' occurs because no true point contact exists—only surfaces interacting at microscopic levels. Even though this chatter may measure only fractions of a micron, it can still obscure some of the most delicate details encoded in the vinyl groove. To combat this issue, Vertere developed the Tri-Pivot Articulated (TPA) bearing. Using three precision silicon nitride balls and a machined stainless steel pivot point, the TPA design eliminates the unwanted movement typical of uni-pivot systems. As a result, the tonearm delivers a lifelike dynamic response with remarkable clarity, musicality, and detail.
Engineering Excellence: Materials and Signal Integrity
The TPA bearing system includes three silicon nitride balls securely held in a precision-machined Acetal retaining ring, supporting a super-precise stainless steel pivot. This arrangement ensures perfect articulation and support, effectively preventing bearing chatter and allowing the stylus to extract even the most subtle musical information from the groove. Every component of the Vertere SG-PTA HB tonearm is engineered for optimum performance. The cartridge tags and 5-pin connector pins are meticulously machined and gold-plated to exacting standards, while the connector body is made from solid PTFE, known for its superior dielectric properties. The entire tonearm is wired with hand-built Pulse HB cable, ensuring the highest level of signal integrity and preserving the full fidelity of the analog playback experience.
veRum Solo Tonearm Cable
Like the absolute reference Pulse-HB, Vertere veRum Solo Tonearm Cable is internally configured to suit the miniature cartridge generator. This construction conducts the delicate phono signal as well as accommodating the substantial RIAA equalisation on the LP. The low frequencies, recorded at much attenuated levels, are conducted just as effectively as the higher level high frequencies.
