This change follows the successful integration of Taylon® as a phase-stable insulation material in the premium SarumT and ChordMusic speaker cables. The move to XLPE across the speaker cable range enhances the overall performance of the Leyline2X, providing superior results at an accessible price point.

Perfect for Installation

The original Leyline was always known for offering high performance at a low cost. Featuring a 16/2 conductor construction, Leyline was ahead of its time, surpassing other 16/2 narrow gauge cables. The tin-plated copper conductors served two vital purposes: preventing oxidation—critical for non-removable cables where long-term performance is crucial—and improving high-frequency performance over extended distances. Leyline demonstrated remarkable results even over 100-metre lengths.

Building upon the proven success of the Leyline platform, the Leyline2X incorporates XLPE technology while maintaining a competitive price. The cable is metre-marked and comes in a convenient 152-metre pull-box, featuring an EN50575 DCA-S2, D2, A1 CPR rating, as well as a rip-cord to facilitate the stripping of the outer jacket. The Chord C-Line Stereo RCA Cable is an original Chord Company design, specially built. We wanted a high-performance cable at an affordable price that still adheres to our exacting standards. A consistent What Hi-Fi? Awards-winner 2015-2023, so it looks like we succeeded.

The ARAY conductor geometry first featured in the Tuned ARAY conductor configuration used on the flagship Chord Sarum cable range. The over-moulded RCA plug uses the same signal enhancing direct gold-plating process that Chord use on the VEE3 RCA plugs.

The most important reason for developing this cable is just how affordable good-quality digital players and turntables have become. Chord released the C-Line RCA cable to match that performance. Producing genuinely high-performance cables that carry a musical signal with a real sense of coherence is a big challenge, and we are justifiably proud of the award-winning C-line interconnects.

With ARAY conductor geometry, the C-Line features multi-strand Oxygen-free copper signal and return conductors. High-density overwrapped foil shielding reduces signal loss caused by high-frequency interference. The unique RCA plug gold-plating process improves signal transfer across audio frequencies, while overmolded plug surrounds provide a high-reliability connection.

The Chord C-line analogue audio interconnect works with all line-level components, CD players, streaming devices, DVD players, home theatre amplifiers, tuners, phono stages, and pre to power amplifier connections. This cable can also be used with RCA-equipped turntables.
