The Pro-Ject Pick it PRO is based on the classic Ortofon 2M body, but its sound is inspired by traditional SPU designs with its lower compliance, lower capacitance and slightly higher output. When installed on the Debut PRO, the result is a high-performance sound with true character.
A Livelier Sound
The Pick it PRO delivers a more lively and robust sound and convinces with its broad dynamic range. The perfect combination of components is key in achieving the great charismatic sound of the Pick it PRO.
Pro-Ject has always sought to achieve the best price/performance ratio with outstanding manufacturing quality, ensuring all products are "Made in Europe". To realise this vision, Pro-Ject collaborated with Ortofon to develop a unique range of cartridges. Through Ortofon’s exceptional manufacturing skills, Pro-Ject was able to create a very special cartridge: the Pick it PRO.

Cartridges function as electromechanical transducers, transforming mechanical energy into an electrical signal where the true sound difference emerges. The turntable itself aims to remain as neutral as possible, while the cartridge brings colour and vibrancy to the music. The Pick it PRO was designed to deliver a lively and robust sound with an impressive dynamic range.
The actual sound of the cartridge is influenced by the interplay of multiple components, including the stylus, cantilever, cantilever suspension, coil material, number of coil windings, and generator. Assessing the cartridge by examining only one part would be incomplete; the experience and skill in fine-tuning make a cartridge unique. The ideal combination of components was crucial to achieving the charismatic sound of the Pick it PRO, and Pro-Ject invested significant research, development, and listening tests to achieve this distinctive sound.
