The default 20Hz mode, with all ports open, delivers the most powerful overall bass performance and extends usable in-room response down to around 17–18Hz. Sealing one port and selecting the 16Hz tuning mode extends low-frequency output further to approximately 13–14Hz, with a slight reduction in maximum output at higher bass levels, making it ideal for deeper infrasonic effects in films and music.
In Sealed mode, with all ports closed, the subwoofer rolls off more gradually from around 32Hz, which can work exceptionally well in smaller rooms with strong room gain, often achieving extension down to 15Hz or lower. These variable tuning options allow the subwoofer to be optimised for different room sizes, listening preferences, and playback demands.
