A celebration of extraordinary sound, beautiful music and the art of listening. An experience shaped by the standards of Absolute Sounds.
A celebration of extraordinary sound, beautiful music and the art of listening. Created and presented by Absolute Sounds, the UK’s leading high-end audio distributor, this is an experience shaped by more than four decades of expertise.
For over forty years, Absolute Sounds has been defining the art of system building, bringing together the world’s finest audio components to create music systems of extraordinary realism. The Happening is an invitation to experience that philosophy beyond the listening room.
Every element of the weekend has been chosen to celebrate a simple idea: that listening deserves the same care as performance. The systems we build, the music we share, the conversations we have and the moments of quiet reflection all begin with the same belief: that great sound has the power to move us.
Guests will experience a carefully curated collection of music systems featuring many of the internationally respected brands distributed in the UK by Absolute Sounds. Each system reflects decades of expertise in selecting and matching components that perform as one, allowing music to unfold with the realism, coherence and emotional presence that only a perfectly balanced system can reveal.
The Happening also offers a rare opportunity to meet the people behind some of the world’s most respected audio brands. Representatives from leading manufacturers across Europe, North America and Australia will be at Haycock Manor throughout the weekend, sharing the philosophy, craftsmanship and engineering behind some of the finest products in music reproduction.
Throughout the weekend, guests will enjoy live performances spanning two distinctive musical traditions. From contemporary blues to the expressive acoustic sounds of the Eastern Mediterranean, each performance has been chosen to celebrate music in its purest form and demonstrate the emotional connection between artist, audience and beautifully reproduced sound.
A series of moderated conversations, led by Alan Sircom, editor of hi-fi+ magazine, will bring together designers, engineers and industry leaders to explore the craftsmanship, innovation and ideas shaping the future of music reproduction.
The celebration of sound continues in a different form. Guided gong sound experiences, led by one of London’s leading sound practitioner, will invite guests to slow the mind, unwind and discover another dimension of listening.
The Happening has been created for those who value depth, craftsmanship and experiences of lasting meaning. An invitation to experience the Absolute Sounds Standard.
