The Hana SL MK II is an upgrade to the popular Hana S series cartridges, offering enhanced musical performance and value. Designed by master cartridge expert Masao Okada-san, this new version features a tapered aluminium cantilever with increased rigidity, improving the transfer of groove modulation from the vinyl to the cartridge generator. The S Series MK II benefits from higher quality components, advanced materials, and techniques derived from Hana’s more expensive models, resulting in the brand's signature "brilliant and gorgeous" sound.
Superior Build and Compatibility
The Hana S Series MK II cartridges incorporate a rigid tapered aluminium cantilever that reduces mass at the stylus tip, ensuring greater clarity and improved music transfer. Key components such as the Yoke, Pole-pieces, and gold terminal pins undergo cryogenic treatment for a more natural sound. The non-resonant body, inspired by the Hana M Series, is coated in matte Soft Feel Black elastomeric resin and equipped with a brass cap. This updated design enhances compatibility with a wider range of tonearms, improving bass and dynamics. The SL MK II generator, which uses an Alnico magnet and high-purity copper wire, optimises performance across a variety of phono stages, offering better signal-to-noise ratio, resolution, and trackability.
