AudioQuest Red River RCA Analog-Audio Cable

Connect audio sources to amplifiers and receivers with the AudioQuest Red River RCA analog-audio cable, engineered for exceptional performance and value. Featuring Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, Foamed-Polyethylene insulation, and Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation, this cable ensures cleaner, clearer, and more naturally beautiful music.

Solid Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) Conductors

AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals, and the Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) represents a significant advancement. This proprietary metal-processing technology ensures the copper’s surface remains smooth and pure, minimizing distortion. High-purity, low-oxide copper is kept soft, pure, and smooth, resulting in a conductor that reduces electrical and magnetic interaction between strands—a common source of distortion in conventional cables. Solid conductors are essential for achieving a clean, natural sound.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

All drawn metal strands have a directional grain structure, which AudioQuest meticulously controls to optimize RF impedance variation and minimize noise-induced distortion. By listening to every batch of metal conductors, AudioQuest determines the correct direction for optimal sound quality. Arrows on connectors indicate the direction that maximizes metal directionality and ensures superior sound quality. This approach is integral to AudioQuest's Noise-Dissipation technology, effectively dissipating induced noise.

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation

While achieving 100% shield coverage is straightforward, preventing captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from affecting the equipment’s ground reference requires advanced Noise-Dissipation techniques. Traditional shield systems absorb and drain noise/RF energy to the component ground, which can distort the signal. AudioQuest’s Noise-Dissipation system absorbs and reflects most noise/RF energy before it reaches the ground layer, maintaining signal integrity.

Hard-Cell Foam Insulation

Hard-Cell Foam (HCF) Insulation is crucial for maintaining critical signal-pair geometry. Solid materials adjacent to a conductor form an imperfect circuit, absorbing energy and releasing it as distortion. HCF Insulation, similar to Foamed-PE used in more affordable cables, is nitrogen-injected to create air pockets. Nitrogen does not absorb energy, thus reducing distortion. The stiffness of HCF ensures stable conductor relationships along the cable’s length, maintaining stable impedance and minimizing distortion.

Triple-Balanced Geometry

Triple-Balanced Geometry employs a separate ground-reference conductor, ensuring the cable's shield is not used as an inferior conductor. Whether equipped with RCA or XLR plugs, this geometry provides three conductors, guaranteeing superior, low-distortion paths for both positive and negative signals.

Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated Terminations

AudioQuest's termination process eliminates solder, a common source of distortion, using a high-pressure cold-weld technique. Ground shells are stamped rather than machined, allowing the use of metals chosen for their low distortion properties.
