Caspian Series 4G employs an ultra-high-resolution hybrid digital-analogue volume control algorithm. This approach combines the strengths of both digital and analogue domains, ensuring a low noise floor and smooth, precise volume transitions.

All Caspian Series 4G products are hand-built by technicians at Monitor Audio Group headquarters in Rayleigh, Essex. Within the sleek and elegant chassis, all components are expertly housed to ensure optimal signal transfer and pristine sound reproduction.

The powerful DSP engine at the heart of Caspian Series 4G enables advanced system optimisation and fine control over playback performance.

Roksan’s proprietary Rapture DAC architecture allows Caspian Series 4G models to extract significantly more musical information. The design is implemented in parallel through a dual-mono topology, delivering exceptional accuracy and detail.

Roksan’s Euphoria amplification excels in both power and finesse. In the Caspian Series 4G Power Amplifier, the Class AB topology has been evolved with individual power supplies for the voltage and current amplification stages. This reduced interaction results in purer, cleaner, and more detailed sound.

The Caspian Series 4G Streaming Pre-Amplifier features fully custom-built internal antennas for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. These antennas include tuned reflectors that protect sensitive circuits from interference, ensuring a strong wireless connection while maintaining a clean external aesthetic.

Through the MaestroUnite app, Caspian Series 4G’s intelligent DSP engine optimises the listening experience using four key technologies: Intelligent Tone, Intelligent Boundary, Intelligent Speaker, and Intelligent Phono.

Caspian Series 4G features a new mono-colour, high-contrast OLED display that presents a clearer and larger single-point user interface than previous generations. Customisable input icons allow easy source selection, while a progress indicator displays information such as track length.

BluOS-enabled Premium Streaming

Streaming allows music to be enjoyed throughout the home at resolutions up to 24-bit, 192 kHz. 

The Caspian Streaming Amplifier supports premium multi-room audio streaming, enabling users to access limitless music from popular streaming services and stream wirelessly with no lag or loss of sound quality. Up to 64 zones of high-resolution audio can be streamed simultaneously. BluOS also allows effortless browsing of locally stored music collections. The result is a fully immersive, whole-home high-fidelity listening experience.

Rapture DAC technology

Caspian Series 4G delivers accurate reproduction of the original recording through Rapture DAC technology, which is based on a differential current conveyor topology. This approach allows more musical information to be extracted, resulting in superior analogue reproduction. Compared to traditional op-amp-based DAC designs, the current conveyor topology offers improved gain-bandwidth characteristics essential for high-resolution audio. Despite being a fully discrete design, it relies on a single circuit element for gain matching, enabling highly effective implementation. Rapture represents a completely new approach to digital-to-analogue conversion.

Key Rapture DAC features include a dual-mono topology in which each channel is derived from the summation of two switched current sources to improve linearity.

LVDS transfer of sensitive timing and digital audio information. This ensures perfect digital signal integrity with no associated noise footprint, delivering precise stereo imaging, exceptional resolution, and an inky-black background between musical passages.

Cleanest Signal Path

The fully balanced design delivers exceptional noise rejection and features a novel ground-switching input architecture that keeps crosstalk between connected devices extremely low. This design is inherited and further refined from Roksan’s Attessa range. Multiple dedicated power supplies ensure clean current delivery with minimal noise, enabling even greater audio performance. A wide range of balanced and unbalanced inputs provides complete system flexibility, while seamless signal paths between system elements ensure optimal integration.

The Phono Stage 

The Caspian Series 4G facilitates highly accurate vinyl playback. Dedicated inputs are provided for both MM and MC cartridges. RIAA equalisation is individually calibrated to cancel component tolerances, ensuring the purest possible vinyl reproduction. Intelligent phono DSP capability further enhances playback quality for record collections.

The integration of Roksan’s powerful DSP engine allows users to refine their listening experience by tailoring playback to their environment and preferences. This ensures faithful reproduction of the original recording as intended by the artist. The DSP engine is accessed via the MaestroUnite app and includes Intelligent Tone, Intelligent Boundary, Intelligent Speaker, and Intelligent Phono technologies.

The Perfect Balance Between Digital and Analogue

Users interact with the Streaming Amplifier and Integrated Amplifier via a centrally positioned, one-touch control dial. The dial is exquisitely crafted, impeccably damped, and provides haptic feedback for a refined user experience. It is flanked by high-resolution LED displays that indicate source and volume selection. Behind the dial, advanced digital signal processing enables tone control and system matching while preserving analogue signal purity.

The hybrid volume control is implemented using discrete sections to avoid distortions common in monolithic volume control chips. Each channel is kept separate to reduce crosstalk and enhance imaging. This design follows Monitor Audio Group’s Transparent Design Philosophy, imparting no character of its own onto the sound.

The internal layout of Caspian Series 4G products reflects meticulous engineering. Despite the high density of components, every element is optimally positioned to minimise crosstalk, electrical interference, and noise, ensuring accurate sound reproduction. Each unit is hand-built by Roksan’s in-house technicians in Rayleigh, Essex, delivering total performance and an unparalleled listening experience.

Internal Antennas 

While wired Ethernet can offer sonic advantages, wireless connectivity is often more practical. Traditional external antennas can compromise aesthetics and introduce interference. Roksan’s custom-designed internal antennas use tuned reflectors to protect sensitive circuits and enhance Wi-Fi performance without visual compromise.

Intuitive Setup and Control

Caspian Series 4G uses Monitor Audio Group’s in-house MaestroUnite app to simplify setup and control. The app enables quick device configuration, Wi-Fi connection, and Internet of Things functionality. Users can adjust input configuration, phono sensitivity, analogue input gain, balance, and low-power standby settings. The app also provides access to advanced DSP features that tailor sound to the listening environment. MaestroUnite supports setup and control of Roksan electronics and Monitor Audio Anthra subwoofers, offering a streamlined and intuitive user experience.

Additional MaestroUnite features include real-time room and speaker sound adjustment, wireless connection to compatible CD transports, 12V trigger integration, control of more than 30 audio parameters, energy optimisation through low-power standby modes, and automatic firmware updates delivered via Wi-Fi.
