The Pro-Ject T2 Super Phono refines the acclaimed T1 with a solid, plastic-free build, a heavier glass platter, and vibration-isolating feet—delivering clearer, more stable hi-fi playback with reduced resonance.

The Pro-Ject T2 Super Phono boasts a built-in dual-stage, split-passive moving magnet phono pre-amplifier. Rivalling the technology employed in many more expensive external phono stages, this built-in solution guarantees true hi-fi stereo sound, and ensures the signal that gets passed on to the amplifier is of the highest quality.

Its plinth has been precision CNC-machined and enlarged to improve overall stability, and is available in eye-catching finishes such as High Gloss Black, Satin White, or Walnut. Avoiding plastic components entirely, the T2 is meticulously crafted with a solid, resonance-resistant build. The redesigned glass platter is both heavier and thicker than that of the T1, eliminating resonance issues often found in lighter plastic or steel alternatives. Additionally, purpose-chosen turntable feet provide effective isolation from environmental vibrations, enhancing playback clarity.

T2 Super Phono

Compared to the T2 W, the T2 Super Phono’s phono stage uses the extra PCB board space to optimise and enhance the electrical layout for a superior analogue performance. The phono stage can also be bypassed if you wish to install an MC cartridge or make use of an external pre-amp as you progress on your analogue journey.

Precision Motor and Speed Control System

Retaining the dependable motor and drive system of the T1, the T2 features a belt-driven mechanism powered by an electronically regulated AC motor. Unlike many alternatives that rely on unregulated DC motors with noticeable speed inconsistencies, the T2’s AC motor ensures stable and quiet performance. The newly developed sub-platter, unique to the T-line, is mounted on a highly precise 0.001mm main bearing with a hardened steel axle and brass bushing. The inclusion of electronic speed switching between 33 and 45 RPM allows for effortless operation and accurate playback across different vinyl formats.

Upgraded Tonearm and Anti-Skating Mechanism

A major upgrade in the T2 is its improved tonearm, featuring a longer, straight 9-inch tube made from a single piece of stiff aluminium. This one-piece construction not only adds rigidity but also eliminates the vibrations typically introduced by detachable or glued-on headshells. Enhanced with newly designed low-friction bearings, the tonearm offers absolute precision in tracking. Furthermore, the T2 introduces an adjustable, spring-based anti-skating mechanism, optimising tracking force and ensuring the cartridge delivers its full sonic potential with minimal distortion.

A True Upgrade

The T2 is factory-fitted with a high-quality Sumiko Rainier MM cartridge, featuring an elliptical diamond stylus for true hi-fi playback. In line with Pro-Ject’s premium design philosophy, the turntable is equipped with custom semi-balanced, low-capacitance phono cables, avoiding generic off-the-shelf RCA leads. A dust cover and felt mat are also included for added protection. For users looking to elevate their setup further, the T2 supports Pro-Ject’s True Balanced concept. With gold-plated RCA outputs and symmetrical signal wiring, the turntable is fully compatible with balanced MC cartridges and phono stages such as the Phono Box S3 B or DS3 B, unlocking enhanced dynamics, reduced noise, and deeper musical engagement.
