The Michi Q5 CD player/Transport DAC is designed to deliver a superior audio experience. At its heart is the ESS ES9028PRO DAC, an industry-leading eight-channel digital-to-analogue converter. This DAC operates within a fully balanced, differential circuit design, providing precise sound reproduction with a low noise floor. Both XLR and RCA outputs ensure pristine sound quality with minimal distortion. The Q5 dedicates four channels to each audio path, offering exceptional detail retrieval and an expansive soundstage. Additionally, the Q5 supports coaxial and optical outputs, allowing it to function as a versatile CD transport.

Michi's commitment to exceptional craftsmanship is evident in the Q5's bespoke CD mechanism. The top-loading system is crafted with a precision optical laser pickup, housed in a durable CNC-machined aluminium chassis. This design ensures not only durability but also a sleek, modern aesthetic. The CD mechanism is mounted on a floating spring assembly, which minimises vibrations and ensures flawless playback. By isolating sensitive electronic components from physical disturbances, the Q5 achieves outstanding performance and audio integrity.

Enhanced Audio Purity

To maintain the highest levels of sound quality, the Q5 is equipped with dual in-house manufactured toroidal transformers. These transformers isolate the digital and analogue voltage supplies, reducing noise and interference. The CD drive motor’s power supply is also isolated to prevent any motor noise from impacting the audio signals. This meticulous attention to detail ensures an immersive listening experience that faithfully captures the original recording, delivering audio purity.

Versatile Connectivity and Aesthetic Elegance

Beyond its superior CD playback, the Michi Q5 is a versatile hub for digital music. It supports PC-USB inputs up to 32-bit/384kHz with MQA and DSD 4X compatibility, as well as 24-bit/192kHz coaxial and optical inputs. This versatility makes the Q5 compatible with a wide range of digital sources. The elegant front panel features a full-colour TFT display, enhancing the listening experience by displaying CD album artwork. The included remote, along with RS232 and Ethernet ports, enables seamless control and integration with popular home automation systems.
