The Pro-Ject Tube Box S2 is the company’s first product to feature a fully discrete circuit design without using operational amplifiers (OpAmps). It is also the first model to include replaceable tubes for tube rolling and sound shaping, giving users multiple options to customise the sound signature to their preferences.

The Tube Box S2 delivers a full, relaxed, and laid-back sound with rich midrange performance, similar to what would typically be expected from a much larger high-end tube phono preamplifier. It supports both MM and MC cartridges and includes multiple gain settings that can be adjusted from the front panel.

Five variable input impedance settings are available for matching MM cartridges, while the fixed 47k ohm input impedance setting is designed for high-output MC cartridges. The aluminium and metal chassis matches the appearance of the DS2 line and helps protect against vibrations and electromagnetic interference for improved sound performance.

The Tube Box S2 is presented as a high-end solution in a compact form factor.
