The Rega Planar 3 Nd5 (2024) Turntable was developed over 10 years and promises to deliver ‘next level’ performance from the factory fited Nd5 moving magnet cartridge

The Planar 3 Nd5 embodies an evolved design philosophy, aiming for enhanced performance and sound clarity. At its core is a lightweight acrylic laminated plinth, strengthened by an improved double brace system. This system is strategically mounted between the tonearm and the main hub bearing, creating a structurally sound "stressed beam" assembly. This design ensures rigidity, preventing energy absorption and unwanted resonance, which can distort the music.

The factory fitted Nd5 moving magnet cartridge is a world first to use ultra-high powered Neodymium magnets, the aluminium cantilever is fitted with a precision perfect elliptical nude diamond stylus. This profile provides exceptional tracking accuracy and extracts greater levels of detail from the vinyl surface.

The Planar 3 factory fitted with the Nd5 cartridge is offered at a discounted rate compared to when purchased separately, offering exeptional value and performance.

RB330 Tonearm

The RB330 tonearm was designed using the latest 3D CAD & CAM technology, and is the culmination of more than 35 years of tonearm design experience. Featuring a brand new bearing housing, and our latest tonearm tube designed using intelligent redistribution of mass ensure this arm will exhibit fewer points of possible resonance. Extreme stability with almost friction free movement from the new high precision bearing assemblies guarantees to gather more information from your vinyl than ever before.

Plinth

High gloss acrylic, laminated plinth, stiffer and vastly improved appearance, ergonomically positioned power switch. Available in three stunning high gloss finishes, black, white and red and new for 2024 Light oak effect.

Double Brace Technology

Improved thicker 3 mm phenolic bottom brace and new metalised skin phenolic top brace.

Bearing Housing

Re-designed brass main hub central bearing, improved fit and construction reducing stress on the bearing itself.

Isolation

New improved foot to increase stability and reduce vibration transfer.

24 V Motor

Improved new motor control PCB with integration for the addition of Neo PSU for electronic speed change and improved advanced anti-vibration circuit (sold separately).

New motor cover tray with integrated cooling.

Dust Cover

Supplied as standard / optional lid - plinth protectors - supplied to prevent marks on the plinth and keep it looking its best.

Bought some Rega Kyte speakers, stands and chords from DB online and they were incredibly helpful. They updated my delivery address very quickly and recommended a longer cut of cables which they did complimentary. They also noticed I didn’t order with banana plugs so called me back to double check, which I did mean to order. When i had some issues connecting my cables and speakers, I called for some advice which they happily gave. Excellent service and next day delivery to London. Thoroughly recommend.

Probably one of the best companies in the world. They had to special order in the speakers which took a fair bit of time, which is totally understandable, but they kept in touch with me throughout the entire time with updates (even on a Sunday!!!) and once the speakers were with them, they were dispatched and arrived next day.

It’s now two weeks since I bought home my new system and I wanted to say thanks again for all your help, advice and guidance, not to mention cups of tea.
