Bowers & Wilkins only uses the Signature name sparingly, reserving it for the rare and radically upgraded versions of its conventional loudspeakers and technologies. Since the brand was founded in 1966, only eight series of loudspeakers have carried the prestigious Signature mark – a reflection of its prestige and exclusivity.
There are three new Bowers & Wilkins signature models the 705 S3 Signature Standmount, the 702 S3 Signature floorstanding speaker and the HTM71 S3 Signature centre speaker, built on a heritage that stretches back to the acclaimed Silver Signature loudspeaker of 1991, originally developed as a posthumous tribute to the founder of the company, John Bowers. The new models build on the already exceptional performance and aesthetic benchmarks of the standard 700 Series models that form the basis of their respective designs, featuring carefully upgraded componentry plus luxurious and beautiful new finishes.
Optimized Performance
Featuring optimised technology from Bowers & Wilkins most advanced loudspeakers, as well as their proprietary Continuum mid-bass drive unit and Tweeter-on-Top, the 705 S3 Signature utilises an upgraded mid-bass motor system, improved capacitors, revised speaker terminals, plus a more open tweeter grille mesh, as developed for the 800 Series Signature loudspeakers.
With the 700 Series, Studio Sound comes home. 700 Series Signature builds on that extraordinary pedigree, with our most advanced technologies, refined and optimized by expert Bowers & Wilkins engineers, to deliver performance that’s a level above the best.
Solid Body Tweeter
The latest generation of our Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing features a more elongated form and longer tube-loading system to produce an even more free and open sound with high frequencies. The carefully decoupled housing is milled from a single solid block of aluminium to better resist resonance.
Carbon Dome tweeter
Carbon Dome tweeters are purpose-built for the 700 Series. Delivering a dramatic improvement on older generations of tweeter dome technologies, they raise the breakup threshold to 47kHz, for pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail.
Upgraded crossovers
Bowers & Wilkins’ engineers carefully optimize these crossovers to perfection to maximize the loudspeakers’ performance. The models utilize upgraded midrange and low-frequency motor systems, improved Mundorf capacitors and revised speaker terminals for even cleaner, refined sound.
