Bowers & Wilkins 707 S3 Bookshelf Speakers + FS-700 Speaker Stands

Bowers & Wilkins has just launched their redesigned, third generation 707 S3 Series of loudspeakers. Enhanced by technologies trickled down from Bowers & Wilkins reference 800 D4 Diamond Series as well as some bespoke engineering innovations, this new range looks set to be very special.

Housed in new cabinet with a curved front which not only adds to the new premium high end look and feel, the curved front also enables the speaker drivers to slightly protrude from the cabinet, this ensures minimal interference from sound reflecting off the cabinet, the result minimises distortion and a more open soundstage. On the back the speaker connections have also been upgraded similar to those used on the 800 D4 Diamond series.

The 707 S3  space friendly design makes it easy to accommodate in smaller spaces, but thanks to its Carbon Dome tweeter, Continuum cone mid-bass and curved baffle, this outstanding loudspeaker proves than often, size can be deceptive.

Thanks to its composite construction, the Continuum™ cone avoids the abrupt transitions in behaviour that can impair the performance of a conventional drive unit. The result is a more open, neutral performance that delivers voices and instruments with precision and transparency.

Sharper detail

Carbon Dome tweeters are purpose-built for the 700 Series. Delivering a dramatic improvement on the aluminium double dome tweeter, they raise the breakup threshold to 47kHz, for pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail.

FS-700 Stands

The Bowers and Wilkins 705 S3, 706 S3 and 707 S3 work best when positioned in their ideal listening position and at the correct height. Bowers and Wilkin's elegant FS-700 S3 stands handle both tasks perfectly and are available in complementary black or silver finishes. Their upgraded design includes a subtle curvature to each column to match the front baffle of each speaker, a bright metal detail running up that column to further accent their premium design, and fillable columns that can be mass-loaded for outstanding stability and quietness. Cable management is also included – as is the option of securely bolting each model of speaker to the top-plate of the stand, ensuring optimum safety.
