The legendary 777 Preamplifier, invented and built by Burmester in 1977, is regarded as the foundation of success for Burmester Audiosysteme. On the occasion of the company’s 30th anniversary in 2007, Burmester introduced another exceptional preamplifier. At present, the 077 is the most versatile preamplifier in the range and integrates seamlessly into the series of internationally acclaimed Burmester preamplifiers.
The Successor
The primary design objective was to match the sonic excellence of the 808 MK5, which is recognised globally as the audiophile gold standard, and to achieve this without compromise in such a complex and versatile unit as the 077. The unit’s logical control concept ensures an effortless listening experience, and its clean design speaks for itself. Above all, its internal components are particularly impressive.
The self-balancing phono stage is just one of its innovative features. It enables the 077 to equalise channel disparities and create an accurate virtual soundstage in the listening space. With a module slot accommodating one of four optional modules, the 077 is equipped to handle a wide range of applications. The integrated surround throughput allows seamless integration into home theatre systems. Additional compelling features of this anniversary model include the X-Amp 2 amplification stages and advanced control via BurLink. The 077 is available with either an integrated or external Reference Line power supply.
