The Chord EpicX subwoofer cable occupies a central position within Chord's family of cables, including the popular Epic Twin and Epic Reference speaker cables, both featuring ChordAlloy plated RCA plugs. Epic Twin continues to be a key product in Chord’s latest offerings due to its effective high-frequency shielding, a technology originally developed for the Chord Signature range, but made more affordable in this configuration.

Tuned ARAY Technology and Performance

The Epic interconnect introduces Tuned ARAY conductor technology, distinguishing it from the Shawline interconnect with heavier silver-plated conductors and optimised spacing of the high-density braid and foil shield. These enhancements improve the cable’s ability to carry dynamic and micro-dynamic information, capturing the rhythm and drive of music while preserving musical integrity and delivering exceptional detail.

Construction and Compatibility

The Epic analogue cable features a unique multi-conductor design, incorporating additional conductors to further enhance detail transmission. Constructed from silver-plated, multi-strand oxygen-free copper, the conductors are insulated with PTFE and surrounded by PVC to control mechanical interference. Fitted with ChordAlloy Chord VEE 3 RCA plugs, this cable works seamlessly within the entire Epic range, and with all Chord cables, thanks to their shared design principles.

Bought some Rega Kyte speakers, stands and chords from DB online and they were incredibly helpful. They updated my delivery address very quickly and recommended a longer cut of cables which they did complimentary. They also noticed I didn’t order with banana plugs so called me back to double check, which I did mean to order. Probably one of the best companies in the world. They had to special order in the speakers which took a fair bit of time, which is totally understandable, but they kept in touch with me throughout the entire time with updates (even on a Sunday!!!) and once the speakers were with them, they were dispatched and arrived next day.
