Magico, a global leader in high-performance loudspeaker design and manufacturing, proudly presents the S2 loudspeaker—the most compact three-way model ever created within its acclaimed S Series. Drawing from the success of the S3 and S5, the S2 delivers a remarkable size-to-performance ratio in a form factor that is elegant, substantial, and acoustically optimised. Constructed from an extruded aluminium enclosure, the S2’s cabinet incorporates the largest single-piece extrusion Magico has ever produced, with an integrated vertical brace that increases rigidity and enables advanced damping strategies. Using cutting-edge tools such as Polytec Laser Vibrometry and 3D simulation, potential cabinet resonance was addressed during early development, ensuring the S2 remains free of colouration and resonance-related artefacts.

Central to the S2’s sonic excellence is Magico’s world-class driver technology. Each of the four drive units was meticulously optimised using the Klippel Near-Field Scanner, which measured acoustic output in full 3D to ensure flawless coherence both on- and off-axis. The S2 employs Gen 8 Nano-Tec cones—featuring an aluminium-honeycomb core sandwiched by graphene-reinforced carbon-fibre skins—for increased strength, reduced mass, and exceptional damping. The result is reduced distortion and extraordinary clarity. Additionally, a new third-generation driver chassis introduces a dual-post configuration, superior suspension design, and improved force distribution to ensure minimal acoustic contribution and maximum air flow.

The S2’s driver array comprises a 5” midrange with a neodymium-based motor system and a 75mm pure titanium voice coil, ensuring exceptional speed and detail in the midband. Two newly developed 7” bass drivers handle low frequencies with precision and control, using 3” voice coils and the same Gen 8 Nano-Tec construction. This combination yields a low-end performance that is both powerful and articulate, achieving a maximum SPL of 109dB at 55Hz. The high frequencies are rendered by a 28mm diamond-coated beryllium tweeter derived from the flagship M9 model, providing a delicate yet extended response up to 50kHz with unmatched resolution and refinement.

Ensuring seamless integration between drivers is Magico’s proprietary Elliptical Symmetry Crossover (ESXO), which employs a 24dB Linkwitz-Riley topology for maximum phase and frequency linearity. The crossover incorporates high-grade Mundorf components, including M-Resist Ultra foil resistors and copper foil paper coils, the latter of which reduce microphonic effects and improve the system's noise floor. This sophisticated crossover network contributes to the S2’s cohesive sonic presentation, delivering lifelike imaging, natural timbre, and exceptional clarity across the frequency spectrum.

Aesthetically, the S2 is offered in a curated selection of premium finishes—six Softec options with rich textures and six High Gloss variants polished to a lustrous sheen. Its three-footer support system, utilising constrained-layer damping and premium materials, further enhances acoustic performance.
