This Plug and Play version delivers the same excellent sound quality as the standard 2M black but is tailored for tonearms without a traditional headshell, offering a practical and straightforward installation for turntables with an SME style arm, such as Technics.
As the top performer of the range, the Ortofon 2M Black Premounted features a precision-machined nude Shibata diamond stylus, mounted to an upgraded engine comprising of split pole magnets and an intricate silver-plated copper coil system. With its ultra-thin and highly polished profile, this stylus can trace the groove over a larger contact area, ultimately maximising its ability to retrieve accurate information and presenting deeper insight into each record.
By mounting the diamond stylus directly to the cantilever, the 2M Black reduces stylus mass, thus enabling quicker and more precise movement through the groove as well as offering you a unique opportunity to hear your collection as if the artist were in the room. This flagship cartridge distinguishes itself from the rest of the range with its wholly engaging and responsive audio output. With the ability to quickly and easily swap out the stylus module, you'll be able to enjoy this cartridge for a long time to come.
