With dual 8.5-inch coated glass fibre matrix bass drivers, a dedicated 6-inch coated glass fibre matrix midrange driver and the further-developed 27 x 90mm AMT high-frequency unit, the ELYSIAN 4R is designed for effortless dynamics, deep bass extension and a vast, natural soundstage.

It is the most complete expression of Generation R: more refined, more precise and more revealing, while preserving the rich, expansive musical character that made the original ELYSIAN series a modern classic.

The Story

The ELYSIAN 4R builds on the strongest foundations of the original flagship ELYSIAN design. Its purpose is simple: to deliver music with the scale, physicality and natural realism expected from a true high-end floorstanding loudspeaker.

The dual 8.5-inch bass drivers provide deep, controlled low-frequency authority, supported by Wharfedale’s Slot-Loaded Profiled Port system for extension, speed and reduced placement sensitivity. The dedicated midrange driver handles the crucial vocal and instrumental band with clarity and tonal accuracy, while the AMT treble unit brings openness, air and transient speed.

Generation R refinements elevate the system further. The crossover has been reworked with direct-path PCBs and premium components. Driver manufacturing has been tightened for greater consistency. Cabinet behaviour has been further optimised to reduce resonance and preserve acoustic transparency.

SLPP Bass Management

Wharfedale’s Slot-Loaded Profiled Port system enhances bass extension and control, minimises turbulence and reduces placement sensitivity. The outcome is bass that is strong, fast and consistent in typical listening environments.
