The NEW Rega Nd9 Fineline Boron Cantilever Cartridge

Rega’s Nd range of cartridges has been with us for just over a year, beginning with the Nd5 and Nd7, followed by the Nd3. All models feature a common state-of-the-art generator system, based around rare-earth neodymium magnets, and a micro-sized generator that can extract deeper detail than many of Rega’s rivals. Rega is one of the few 100% British hi-fi manufacturers, and all Rega products are handmade in Southend-on-Sea.

Building on the strengths of Rega’s Nd range, the top-of-the-line Nd9 advances the existing design with a super-fine line stylus coupled to an ultra-low-mass, super-strong boron cantilever. On the surface, this appears to draw inspiration from Rega’s own high-end moving-coil cartridge technology.

The lower-mass cantilever and finer stylus profile deliver a more detailed, spacious sound, with cleaner, faster treble and greater openness. This makes the Nd9 the perfect candidate for use on the Rega Planar 6 and above, or even for those looking to maximise performance from their Rega Planar 3.
