The Chord EpicX, previously known as the Epic and Epic Twin, has been a mainstay in The Chord Company's speaker cable range for many years. This shielded cable is compatible with a wide variety of speakers, from mid-range to high-end models, offering enhanced detail, dynamics, resolution, and coherence. EpicX excels in delivering control and definition, particularly in the bass frequencies, making it an ideal choice for floor-standing speakers. Its ability to bring out clarity and precision ensures that every speaker it’s paired with performs at its best.

EpicX is built upon the foundations of the multi-award-winning Chord OdysseyX speaker cable. Both cables feature 12 AWG oxygen-free copper conductors, which are silver-plated and insulated with XLPE before being encased in a durable PVC jacket. The key performance improvement in EpicX lies in the addition of an effective high-frequency combination shield and a translucent PVC jacket, enhancing its ability to reduce interference and improve overall sound quality.

EpicX pairs perfectly with Chord Company’s ChordOhmic plugs, which are complemented by the new ‘trousers’. EpicX can be professionally terminated by participating Chord Company dealers using the new ChordOhmic Hex Gun tool. This service not only ensures custom-length cables but also allows customers to bypass the factory build queue. Existing EpicX cables can also be upgraded with the latest plugs, trousers, and terminations, offering an enhanced audio experience without the need for a complete replacement.
