With turntable-ready phono cables securely fixed beneath the tonearm, it connects effortlessly to amplifiers equipped with built-in phono stages. Inspired by other Pro-Ject designs, the E1 boasts a stylish CNC-machined composite fibre platform that enhances its anti-resonance properties. At its core, a precision belt drive system paired with a damped DC motor drives the new ABS polymer main platter, which features specially designed ridges for optimal performance. The tonearm, measuring 8.6 inches, utilises a one-piece aluminium tube and a two-point bearing assembly, providing low moving mass and excellent electrical isolation.

OM5E Cartridge

Finished with an Ortofon OM 5E cartridge and factory-set downforce and anti-skate settings, the E1 is designed for straightforward setup and immediate playback, making it perfect for music lovers who appreciate quality without complexity.

It offers a phono RCA input for turntables, line inputs for CD players, and digital S/PDIF inputs (optical and coaxial) for devices such as TVs. Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD allows for high-quality wireless streaming from mobile devices, and a USB-C output powers modern streamers without the need for an additional power supply. The E version serves as an upgrade to the classic Box 5, boasting superlative sound quality characterised by low colouration and exceptional transparency. The frequency response spans from 60Hz to 20kHz, supported by a bass-ported cabinet that enhances low-end performance. Moreover, the well-braced cabinet is available in a variety of colours, allowing for aesthetic flexibility to suit different environments.

Advanced Components

At the heart of the Pro-Ject Speaker Box 5 E Speaker is a 1” silk dome tweeter, which ensures transparent and smooth high-frequency reproduction, extending up to 20kHz. The use of silk in the tweeter's construction contributes to a more natural sound signature. Furthermore, the crossover is built with high-quality components, with capacitors and inductors securely mounted on a PCB to minimise distortion, particularly in the midrange frequencies. Complementing the tweeter, the speaker features a highly rigid 5” fibre glass coned bass/midrange driver that reduces distortion even at high volumes, while a powerful motor magnet allows for remarkable bass output relative to its size.

The Stereo Set E1 is supplied with bare-wire speaker cables (RCA cables are included with the turntable).
